The Community and Economic Development Director is a resource to businesses in the City of Bluefield. Please contact the office with any questions either by email or by calling 304.327.2401 ext. 2405. Services offered include, but are not limited to:
There are many resources available to new businesses in West Virginia. Business plan development, marketing plan development, specific programs for certain industries, loan and/or grant programs, and more can help as you begin your business.
One of the primary roles of the director is to act as a liaison for the businesses in the city. This office seeks to work alongside businesses to provide a dynamic environment for employers and employees to live, work, and play.
This office manages the grants for the City of Bluefield. We are happy to assist in grant reviewing for local area businesses, non-profits, and organizations. Partnerships and pass-through grants can also be requested through the Community and Economic Development Director.
Economic development is a long-term process that must be driven by the community at-large. Having community members spearhead efforts is key to building our future together. Economic redevelopment teams are working to grow the business community and living environment here in the city. As such, this office helps facilitate meetings and ensure that efforts are not being duplicated within the City. If you would like to be involved or have an idea, share it with our office and we will introduce you to those that are working in that area.
The city administration does its best to maintain an open door policy. However, appointments are the best way to schedule time with the director and city officials. We want to hear from you about ways to better our community and encouage residents and stake-holders to meet with us.
