Lifeguard

Job Description

Job Summary

The Lifeguard maintains constant surveillance of patrons in thefacility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in theevent of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until thearrival of emergency medical services.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain watch over the pool area ensuring a secure and safe environment
  • Employ accident prevention by enforcing pool rules and regulations
  • Respond to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by club policy
  • Teach private & group swim lesson to kids and adults of all abilities
  • Assist in the development, implementation and marketing of innovative swim programs
  • Assist in coaching a competitive swim team
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatics center

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • Current accredited Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire.
Member Services Attendant

Job Summary

The Membership Services Attendant will maintain front desk,greet and direct members, and guests and staff as they enter the gym andprovide control of the front door location. This position will provideassistance to members' requests along with inquiries about gym operations andpolicies as well as provide enthusiastic, courteous, timely service to allpersons.

Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Consistently on time and dressed appropriately
  • Greet people entering the building cordially, making an effort to learn and use names
  • Refrain from using cell phone or social networking sites while working
  • Respond immediately to service needs in a friendly manner
  • Maintain a current knowledge of all Parks and Recreation programs, classes and meetings
  • Operate telephone switchboard using proper phone etiquette at all times
  • Operate computer, cash box and credit card terminal maintaining balanced funds during scheduled shifts
  • Register program participants for Parks and Recreation programs
  • Perform proper closing or opening procedures
  • Attend all front desk staff meetings
  • Assist other Parks and Recreation staff in completing various work projects as workload allows
  • Receive members/guest complaints and comments responding in a sincere pleasant manner; indicate an understanding of the problem and take necessary steps to correct as soon as possible- relay the comment in written form to appropriate staff
  • Maintain clean, neat appearance of self and work area

Wellness Attendant

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Healthy and Wellness Coordinator, theWellness Attendant will be responsible for the activity in the Wellness Centerand will follow all health and fitness guidelines. This individual will provideexcellent customer service in a safe, enjoyable and positive atmosphere thatpromotes member wellness.

Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Ensure safe and risk free environment at all times while meeting the individual needs of the participants
  • Provide courteous, prompt and sincere attention to members, guests, participants and staff
  • Maintain appropriate relationships with members, participants and other staff
  • Communicate and enforce policies and guidelines for the equipment area
  • Check the appointment book and initial your appointments at the beginning of shift; meet appointment at check-in desk
  • Conduct wellness evaluation and program recommendations for all new members
  • Monitor Wellness Center; communicate with members offering suggestion to enhance member workouts, correction of bad form, and providing spots; provide equipment and strength training orientations
  • Schedule follow-up appointments with members to ensure they are getting the most out of their membership
  • Maintain a safe, clean and functional exercise equipment area
  • Document any accidents/injuries/incidents
  • Record daily use statistics
  • Work closely with Healthy Living Coordinator to provide a premier member experience
  • Offer creative ideas and changes to the Healthy Living Coordinator to constantly monitor and improve the wellness program
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions; keep all certifications current
  • Assist with special events
  • Build relationships and interact with members

Job Summary 

Applicants for this position should be able to operate street and sanitation department motor vehicles and road maintenance equipment. This position uses hand tools and power-operated hand tools and machinery, and can be physically demanding with exposure to extremes of heat and cold. Applicants should expect to perform general labor and other duties as assigned.

Class A or Class B license. Experienced drivers preferred.

Certified Personal Trainer

The Personal Trainer provides a customfitness program in proper cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training ina one on one learning or small group environment to both health seekers andactive fitness participants to attain the participants’ chief goal(s). 

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Arrives at work consistently on time, in proper uniform, andprepared to perform the essential functions of your job 
  • Motivates and inspire clients to get results through goalsetting, frequent follow-up, and re-assessments to show progress 
  • Maintains up to date client folders and tracks sessions
