Summit Players presents "My Three Angels"
Bluefield, WV, November 17, 2016-Summit Players, continuing its half-century of entertainment leadership, offers up the Christmas dark comedy “My Three Angels”, on December 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, 10th, and 11th, at the historic Summit Players Theatre, 500 Bland Street, Bluefield, WV.
“My Three Angels” revolves around the Christmas Eve exploits of three notorious Devil’s Island escapees, who descend on a hapless shopkeeper, his wife and his daughter. Initially planning to rob and kill their victims, the convicts, instead, decide to celebrate Christmas in a comically unique manner. A cooked dinner, a cooked ledger, a pair of troublesome relatives, and a most deadly ally, all add to the holiday merriment.
The script, by Samuel and Bella Spewack, is provided courtesy of Samuel French, Inc., “My Three Angels” is based on the original story “La Cuisine Des Anges”, by Albert Husson.
The cast includes Gary Denardo, John Feutchenburger, Josef Huber, Tina Kwan, Chip Redden, Sandy Schweingruber, Rachel Sullivan, Stan Tucker, and Patrick Williams.
Several cast members are making their Summit Players debuts in “My Three Angels.” Bluefield State College student Josef Huber hails from Flintsvach, Germany, and he offers up 7 years theatrical experience. Rachel Sullivan also attends Bluefield State College, and this spring she will be performing at Florida’s Walt Disney World.
Patrick Williams, WVVA Television Creative Services Director, moves from the Summit Players light booth to makes his adult-character acting debut in “My Three Angels”. Last, but certainly not least, Jessica Bulson joins the company as Stage Manager. Bulson teaches at Bluefield Intermediate School, and she has 12 years of theater experience.

The doors open for the dinner theater shows at 6:00 p.m. Adult tickets are $35 each. Dinner will be provided by Kathy Matney’s “Powerhouse Food Service.” The Sunday matinees start at 2:00 p.m., with adult tickets being $15 per person.

Summit Players is the longest continuously operating community-theatre group in West Virginia, and 2016 marks its semi-centennial anniversary. It has called downtown Bluefield’s Summit Players Theatre, which is now proudly part of the West Virginia Historic Theatre Trail, home for well over 30 years. This 1924 Classical Revival structure, the dominant part of the Bluefield Area Arts Center building, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
